One Room Challenge :: Week 5

Or I should say weeks 3, 4, and 5.  No, you didn't miss a post (or 2).  Somehow weeks 3 and 4 just snuck past me there!  You can see Week 1 here and Week 2 here.  I do have some progress to report on Teddie's nursery though!  The past few weeks have been so busy with kid stuff, auctions, birthdays, holidays but I did squeeze in a few small projects for the room that I can share today.

First, the bedding.  This time around I opted not to buy an entire crib set.  I went with the fitted "Preppy Girl" crib sheet by Candy Kirby Designs and I love it!  Are you familiar with her?  The fabric design is made from one of Erin's original abstract paintings.  It's so good.  Then I just re-used the green chevron crib skirt that I had made for Isaac's room.  Done and done.

Next up is the new light fixture.  I've been holding onto this cute chandelier for at least a year.  Probably longer.  I'm so happy to finally be able to use it.  The ceilings are pretty low on our second floor so I'm betting Matt may bump his head a few times, but I'm determined to give it a try!  I'm still undecided as to whether or not I'll paint it to give it a similar look to the one that was on my original inspiration board.

Also, I have paint.  In the house.  Yes!  For me, actually choosing a color and then getting out the door to buy it is the hardest part.  I went with Benjamin Moore Pink Harmony for the ceiling and a bright white for the walls and trim. Hopefully I can knock that out over the weekend.  Unfortunately the ostrich wallpaper isn't going to happen right now.  Check out Week 2 if you don't know what I'm talking about. I'm a little sad about it, but it is what it is.  I can always add it down the road.  We shall see.

I have some art for the walls including photos of my sleeping beauty and a cute little print. I'm also working on a diy art project inspired by these images from the The Animal Print Shop.  Baby animals.  There is nothing cuter.  Well, almost nothing cuter....see below :)

These glitter letters will soon be a garland spelling out a phrase from a favorite song.  Stay tuned for that.

I'm using this mobile from Baby Jives.  It's one of my favorite things in the room.  So simple and sweet.

This little rattan side table is in the process of being yarn bombed.

And that about does it for now.  Things still left to do this week are:
-PAINT!
-Buy and install shelving
-Embellish and hang curtains
-Baskets for changing table.
-Install light fixture
-Hang art
-Floor lamp
-Deal with rocking chair...not sure about this one yet

Still lots to get done.  I can't wait until next week for all of the reveals!

Be sure to check out the Big Dogs here and the Linking Participants here to see what everyone has been up to!
